The Tour of Camsur is coming

Next week will see the staging of the first ever Tour of Camsur in the Philippines. The 9-day stage race will start on the 21st with a 15-km night time team time trial prologue stage around the Mall of Asia in downtown Manilla and then will gradually head south through southern Luzon to eventually finish with a 40-km critirium around the world famous Camarines Watersports Complex, which is in deepest Camarines Sur Province.
Although the race is branded as Camsur this year, it actually started out a while back as the Tour of Luzon, and last year it attracted a high-end international line up for a tough battle that was fought out in the northern slice of Luzon province. This year's team line up is still in the finalisation stages, but will include most of the top Filipino riders and teams.
In total the race will cover almost 1000-km during the 9 days of racing through the heated lands of Bicol and Camarines, with plenty of climbing guaranteed. The going gets seriously hilly towards the back end of the race, with stage 8 being the anticipated "Queen stage" of the race, ensuring that the racing goes right down to the last beat of the nail.
We'll be live on the ground and will bring regular updates for the race to the site, so please stay tuned!
